The 49ers have one of the NFL’s best offenses, displayed in a decisive 42-19 Week 13 win over Philadelphia. Quarterback Brock Purdy carved up the Eagles’ defense, going 19-of-27 for 314 yards and four touchdowns, including a pair to Deebo Samuel, who tallied four catches for 116 yards. Running back Christian McCaffrey has multiple touchdowns in three of his last six games.
Seattle’s reeling defense, which has surrendered 30 or more points in three of its last five games, will have its hands full with a 49ers’ offense averaging more than 29 points per game this season. Seahawks’ quarterback Geno Smith got back on track in a 41-35 Week 13 loss to the Cowboys. Smith threw for 334 yards and three touchdowns, matching his TD total from the Seahawks’ previous three games. Smith is a game-time decision for Sunday’s game with a groin injury. Drew Lock would start if Smith can’t go.
Seattle running backs Zach Charbonnet (knee) and Kenneth Walker III (oblique) are game-time decisions with injuries.
Cracking the Cowboys’ tough defense gives the Seahawks hope against the 49ers, but only a sliver. San Francisco is 4-1 at home this season and returns to the Bay Area looking to take one more step toward becoming the NFC’s top playoff seed.
