Mac Miller’s mother, Karen Meyers, just had her very first Christmas since her son’s death in the late summer months. On Tuesday, Karen took to her social media to share a picture of her family’s Christmas Eve dinner.
She wrote in the caption beneath the photo, “we spent the most wonderful night with favorite friends, that are our family.” Meyers went on to say that she and the rest of her family were “so grateful” for the atmosphere as well as the food.
She thanked “Ian, the master chef,” as well as Fig and “Preston.” Her post on the ‘Gram sparked many of her followers to offer their well-wishes and tributes to Mac.
“God bless your family, this is a tough one for you guys and everyone is sending love,” one person wrote. Another social media user wished her Merry Christmas as well as Mac who’s in heaven.

This all comes just a few weeks after it was revealed that Mac was nominated for Best Rap Album at next year’s Grammy Awards – the 61st Annual Award Ceremony.
Mac, or Malcolm McCormick, was discovered dead in his apartment in Studio City, California, on the 7th of September. He passed away due to a lethal combination of cocaine, alcohol, and fentanyl.
Mac was 26-years-old at the time of his death. In a statement released in November, the Medical Examiner-Coroner in LA confirmed that Mac had died due to mixed toxicity and his death was not intentional.
The McCormick family chose to bury Miller in their native town of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Almost two months after his death, Mac’s life and career were honored by several artists and hundreds of people, in addition to The Mac Miller Circles Fund, an organization meant to help out struggling youth.

The tribute concert on the 1st of November featured many artists including Vince Staples, Ty Dolla $ign, Travis Scott, Thundercat, SZA, ScHoolboy Q, Njomza, Miguel, John Mayer, JID, Earl Sweatshirt, Domo Genesis, Dylan Reynolds, Chance The Rapper, Anderson Paak, and Action Bronson, among others.
