Written by Chin Injeti and Shadrach Paul Kabango, with Chin Injeti acting as producer as well, “For Better or For Worse” starts off with a rhythmic guitar rhythm that subtly adds to the indie vocals; vocals which hold so much emotion. From the very first word, we know that these lyrics mean something as the voice delivers them straight from the heart. As the chorus kicks in, the backing track turns up a notch with added synths that alter the rhythm while still allowing the vocals to shine. Full of so much soul while injecting humour here and there – especially in the second verse, “For Better or For Worse” takes indie-soul to a new level and wraps it around a rhythmic but subtle indie-rock track that has an effortlessly catchy chorus that is determined to stay inside one’s head.
