Caroline Dolehide’s tennis career and news

She qualified for the Stanford Classic to make her WTA main draw debut. In fact, Dolehide won her first WTA tour-level match against No. 48 Naomi Osaka before losing to Madison Keys in the next-round games in 2017.

She pushed Simona Halep to three sets in her 3rd round loss to the world’s No. 1 WTA player.

Dolehide did not victory multiple main draw matches at a singles event again until a $25K event in April 2019 where she ended runner-up to Barbora Krejčíková of the US Open 2018.

Her latest career news

After, she finished runner-up with Usue Maitane Arconada before vectoring a title at the Surbiton Trophy with Jennifer Brady.

Then she partnered with compatriot Vania King to produce her best career of the year 2019. The pair reached the semifinals, beating the fourteenth-seeded team of Lyudmyla Kichenok and Jeļena Ostapenko earlier losing to the eventual champions Aryna Sabalenka and Elise Mertens.

In the 2023 Guadalajara Open Akron, she reached the third round of a WTA 1000 tournament for the second time in her career. Following that, she secured her spot in the singles quarterfinals of a WTA 1000 event by defeating Ekaterina Alexandrova, who was seeded eighth. This marked her first-ever singles quarterfinal appearance in a WTA 1000 tournament.

She experienced a significant rise in her career, moving nearly 70 positions up the rankings and achieving a new personal best of being ranked in the top 45 on 25 September 2023.

During the same tournament, right after her singles quarterfinal match, she teamed up with Asia Muhammad to advance to the semifinals. In a duration of one hour, they managed to defeat Miyu Kato (tennis) and Aldila Sutjiadi. However, they were later defeated by Elise Mertens and Storm Hunter, who were the top seeds and went on to become the champions.
